Vrede is a Flemish Peace Movement

Vrede vzw is as old as NATO is; we started in 1949 as member of World Peace Council. We have a history of struggle against nuclear weapons, of solidarity with liberation and anti-colonial movements, of promoting détente during the Cold War, of activism against armament race and arms trade. Today we focus particularly on the Middle East, NATO, militarisation in the European Union,geopolitical shifts and on 'climate and conflict'.
